APPLICATION EXPLANATION
OOC INFO;
NAME: Your name.
AGE: You must be 18+ to app to Spellbind.
CONTACT: List one or two preferred methods of contact OR a contact list site like carrd.
CHARACTERS IN GAME: Delete this section if inapplicable.
IC INFO;
CHARACTER NAME: Self-explanitory
CANON & HISTORY: A link to a canon wiki and any additional write-ups go here. If you must write out your canon history, please list the canon and then write your information in additional paragraphs. If you're apping an original OC, simply put "original canon" and then your character's history.
AGE: Explain character age and if there's any extinuating circumstances regarding that age (i.e. my character is 9000 but looks like a five-year-old, etc)
CANON POINT: Try to be as specific as possible here. For example: halfway through the anime; episode 12, after X speaks with Y
PERSONALITY: There is no hard limit to how much or how little you can write here. If you believe 200 words is good enough to describe your character, go ahead. If you want to send a 2000 word essay, go ahead. Whatever you think is necessary to show us you have a grasp on this character.
Think of your personality section like this: a trait is your thesis statement, and the historical evidence in canon are what you will use to back up that thesis claim. We want an even mix of traits that define your character, as well as any pieces of canon evidence that explain this trait.
POWERS: These are specifically powers that will be lost in low-frequency worlds. Feel free to list them or link to a wiki. If you link to a wiki, please make sure to note which powers will NOT be taken in low-frequency worlds if any are applicable.
OTHER: This is where anything else goes that you believe should be noted. This can be something silly, like "my character loves gardening" (a.k.a. a piece of information that's present but that doesn't explicitly tie into their personality), or a major note you'd like to include.
GAME INFO;
CRAU INFO: Delete this section if inapplicable. If you are a CRAU implant, you must provide all of the following: an explanation or link to the game's premise, a write up of how your character grew/changed in the game (including any notable relationships), and at least two links to your activity in the game. If you can't provide at least two activity links, your CRAU isn't viable enough to be applicable for the game. Please link your activity links as your sample.
MAGIC ABILITY: Remember to choose one power for your character. Remember the rule of semantics: I can make pies appear, I can make pies and cakes appear, I can make baked goods appear
- While your magic ability needs to be one specific power, that doesn't mean simply writing a sentence announcing the power without explaining it. It's good to expand upon what your magic can do in order for everyone (mods, players, you) to have an understanding of its capabilities.
- Limitations and caveats aren't necessary, but they are encouraged. It's natural that magic has limits,
and you're free to express your creativity in how these limits work.
- Finally, when it comes to a power that creates AND manipulates something, this is given a little wiggle room. If you want to create magic that, say, can create water but can't control it, you're welcome to! But a lot of -kinesis powers come with both creation and manipulation, and it's hard to fully separate the two, so it will be considered one magic ability on a case by case basis.
PRICE: Please list the item you wish to be taken here. This item has to technically be in their possession or theirs. If your character's diary is taken from them in canon, this counts as a possession that is theirs. If they give it to someone to keep, that's not theirs anymore.
ACCLIMATION: 1 - 10 | Ask yourself the question: "How easily will my character adjust to this situation on a scale of 1 to 10?" and answer with a number and a couple of sentences about their reaction to the situation. This section is based on how willing your character will be to integrate into the setting. Some opening events may pair up characters with low acclimation numbers with higher acclimation numbers. Think of it like statistic data for the mods; not too complicated! However, there are examples of how to fill out this section within the comments of this post.
SAMPLE;
NOTE: Your sample is PASS/FAIL. If you know your character and want to play them, we should not have to revision you for your sample! Either you know your character or you don't. The only revisions given for your sample will be if it is too old or doesn't contain enough comments.
LINKED SAMPLE: Your linked sample must include at least 10 comments from your character. NO TFLN or crack meme links -- the point is to see how you would seriously play your character. Other memes are fine. The link cannot be more than 2 YEARS OLD based on year. So, RP links should not be taken from 2014 or earlier. Your sample does not need to be an in-game sample, but feel free to use the TDM if you need to offer up your character for usable threads. If you are a CRAU implant, your two examples of activity in your old game will count as your sample so this section can be skipped.
ACCLIMATION EXAMPLES
EXAMPLE 2: 1. Florence is extremely codependent on her sister Margaret. With Margaret not being with her immediately, her entire ability to survive will be greatly compromised and she will have to learn how to rely on herself, not someone else.
EXAMPLE 3: 8. Yosuke is extremely emotionally unstable and has no feelings of attachment to any person or situation. He may act like he's depressed or upset about the situation, but it's a facade. This emotional freedom doesn't mean he's great at surviving, so his skills in the wilderness will prove to be somewhat useless to the coven.
