Sure, of course! So I have two different canons in mind with this question.
So one of the canons is Shaman King where they 'bond' with spirits to create weapons. The main character that I have in mind is Horohoro and the 'pet character' is Kororo. She doesn't actually have the ability to talk but she does have a very visible personality and used to be a human. But as a human she was only shown for less than a chapter and a 10 panel short story that focused more on horohoro's past. She didn't really have much of a personality as a human. Anyways, only people who can see ghosts can see Kororo, but she can technically interact with anyone. Her current medium ( basically what she stays in ) is a fancy stick called a Ikupasuy. )
The only canon would be Miraculous Ladybug, where the two main characters have Kwamis which exist within a miraculous and are 'attached' to them. They only interact with the person wearing the miraculous too, but can be seen by anyone. They have personalities, but they don't really 'exist' and are used to transform.
