PREMISE
Consider this your quick and dirty Spellbind starter guide. This explains the overall premise, as well as your character's first day in the game.
Spellbind is a sci-fi/fantasy adventure roleplay that combines space exploration with adventuring through fantastical realms. The setting of the game changes on a semi-regular basis, with about ~2 months in between switching from one world to the next.
All characters are afforded one power -- and this power is up to you. The magic that your character has been given isn't the only thing they're newly equipped with: they also now have a telepathic connection with major NPCs and other player characters.
As a secondary note, characters also have items taken from this. This is largely a plot mechanic and not something they may need to react to. The item is something important to them, but not what they may have on their person.
Why is this happening to them? Two NPCs tasked with watching over the player character explain that they too have been magicked away from across universes to assist in the well-being of a space witch named Qri. In order to go back home, characters must traverse the galaxy collecting enough magical energy somehow in order to awaken Qri's total power. They know as much as you do, outside of their seniority as kidnapping victims.
The main setting of the game is one that is stagnant, though it is only the 'main' setting in terms of origin and return point. Characters won't be here as often as they'll be exploring planets, evading violence, collecting rations, etc.
